| We asked the Ealing Civic Society to comment on No.43 and in another case in W3 (please see below) but heard nothing. We are looking at the case at No.39 Castlebar Road too and we have already identified a proposed trespass against Mrs Jaafar's land. We have asked the case officer to visit plus the residents are instructing a planning consultant to scrutinise the plans, as before at No.43. "Battle of the Buildings" - Last night at the Town Hall, we won our battle with the planners and developers over a proposed backgarden development in the grounds of a magnificent locally-listed 130 year-old villa in Acton called "Peacehaven". The proposals had been the subject of over 240 objections (not a single letter of support) but these were all brushed aside by the planners, who fully supported the developers recommending "grant". The Committee declined to accept the officers' favourable recommendation and refused the application citing several grounds. This is the fourth backgarden development proposal to be rejected by the Planning Committee contrary to officers' advice. |
