| Was also used by Scots themselves, whatever they claim now - plenty of recorded and published instances. But the current 'tish' fad goes back further than 50 years - I remember being told by my (West Yorkshire born and bred) mother best part of 60 years ago that it was an offence to call Scotch folk Scotch, without it being explained why. |
