| This is indeed a sorry story with currently a good result. Some other perspectives: I believe that throughout England 40% of Planners have lost their jobs over the last year or so.. It's highly likely that Ealing Planning Department is suffering from lack of permanent resource. As we enter our third consecutive recession this permanent resourcing could decrease even more. According to property experts GVA Grimley Crossrail fever has galvanised developers and rich buyers in their interest in the Ealing Metropolitan Town Centre and Southall. This will be leading to massive Ealing Council Planning Department activity in selling these folks Pre-Application Advice. This will receive priority as it is revenue generating. Finally in this country apparently there is no effective legislation or regulations concerning basement developments. All we seem to have have, which is woefully inadequate, are laws and regulations re underground mining! |
