| It's rife. I often wonder why so many elected councillors are so keen to get involved with portfolios that handle tenders and contracts. Is Dr Sahota a GP or a businessman? He would have to be superhuman to be both and consistently successful at both. To be a first rate GP involves dedicating a lot of time to the job. And on top he is involved in politics. Amazing. Probably as a means more than duty and honour. Take a look at some councillors declared interests. Any party colours will do. Why are so many involved with PR and lobbying companies with specialities in driving through developments.? Take a look at firms like Indigo and Fortyshillings . All of which are rather good at spinning and countering public objections to planning applications. Rather than an envelope stuffed with fiftys, they are 'advisors or consultants' to make it all legitimate. But it's far removed from being elected to serve you ward and your electorate. And if you think Ealing is bad, take a look at Hounslow. They are masters of the gravy train. Corrupters of democracy |
