I would regard conservation work in an area as densely populated as Ealing as a vanity service unfortunately. ALL the conservation sites in Ealing put together would probably cover the the same acreage as a "small farm". The priority in Ealing must be the maintenance of a safe and liveable environment for people which is not what the rangers are about. The River Brent which you refer to is actually the responsibility of British Waterways (where it interacts with the Canacl), DEFRA, and Thames Water in different ways so I wonder why Ealing Council is cleaning it up rather than referring costs and responsibility to these organisations? I note that you do not mention the bye-laws regarding cycling in parks (which is dangerous to the elderly and the very young) which the rangers have NEVER enforced and the Allotment Byelaws which are openly flouted and ignored. A vanity service, and nothing more. |
