I think that you will find that the Greenford site will try and charge for stuff that has come out of my DIY. My friends have had some bad experiences there: when they are not busy they will tend to "pick" on people and get nasty with them. I would suggest that you were lucky. Bollo Lane is not meant to take pavers and bricks; it depends on who is on duty. If there is a more senior person from the contractor there they will get nasty, if it is one of the "bods" who just do stuff then they can be very helpful. I personally have been lectured that the rubble skip at Greenford is a discretionary convenience that the contractors do not have to accept DIY rubble and that they charge for it and that normally you would have to go over the weightbridge. The refusal disposal service is a typical Ealing council lash-up I am afraid to say. |
