On the subject of the Ealing Park Rangers I would like to say how important they were in facilitating our very successful tree-planting day in Blondin Nature Reserve yesterday. We had well over a 100 people there, ranging from keen local residents, families with small children, members of Ealing Transition, local councillors Reen and Taylor, to a team doing community payback and our own Friends of Blondin members. Organising all these people to safely and correctly plant over 100 trees in the correct allocated spots, with stakes, ties and mulching properly applied, was quite a task but all went very smoothly. Without our Rangers this sort of occasion would be much more difficult to organise and we could well lose the added value provided by all these keen volunteers. |
