I will admit the pizzas are good, the best in Ealing... probably (Momento in Northfields being the Competition.) I did find that the pizzas were delivered to the table very quickly. This is not necessarily a problem however I did get the impression it was done to get us out quickly. That evening after my meal I found myself very thirsty, waking up twice in the night to get glasses of water. This points to a lot of salt being used in the dough. Not a problem if your in sunny Italy were the heat demands a salt rich diet, in cold miserable Ealing however not the case. Another grievance I have with Santa Maria is the size of the restaurant. I went in with four friends and we were the only people in the Restaurant. Half way through our meal another family of five walked in and it was a rite pain to fit them in. It involved moving of our tables and squeezing. It is definitely not somewhere I would go for a romantic meal, however for a take away or quick lunch definitely!
