I asked my daughter about this and she said that it is only younger and more naive school children who get their cards confiscated. The older more streetwise never admit to having them on them if they've borrowed someone else's or have done something wrong because they know it will be taken away and the inspectors tend not to follow up if they don't have the card. They all give a false address if asked. The irony is that if a child forgets their card most drivers just let them on anyway. She also says that behaviour isn't the problem it used to be because of CCTV on buses. |
