| I do agree that hate was too strong a word, and I certainly wasn't making any assumptions about the members of the SEC, I had not heard of you until now. I personally liked the Glenkirren proposal although maybe not the facade of the skyscraper. I love seeing new and old together. A few of you ask what I would like to see; I would like to see the Broadway centre and the Arcadia centre totally demolished if that was an improvement on what was there before I'd hate to see that, I'd like to see (like the Glenkirren proposal), somewhere with units big enough to house the high street shops and restaurants where shopping and eating in the centre would be a pleasure with a lot of provision for local businesses of course. Ealing has some fantastic restaurants unfortunately they are mostly on the outskirts and not in the centre making it somewhere I hardly visit to eat out. I applaud the people who obviously work hard to make Ealing a better place and that does include this current council; Although I have found of lot of good and interesting threads on this forum I find the constant moaning and negativity about Ealing and it's council a shame when both have such a lot of positive things going for it. |
