Not wishing to be a spoilsport but the information fielded by the council is incomplete in two respects. 1) It appears to only relate to residential collections. If it doesn't then there should be a breakdown of commercial and industrial waste (if council facilities are used). 2) Comparisons with previous years would be helpful. It's all very well saying recycling represents 35% of 120 000 tonnes, 80 000 tonnes going to landfill, but it would be better still if recycling were (subjunctive clause?) 25% of 100 000 tonnes - only 75 000 tonnes going to landfill. I wonder what the Council's own recycling rate is, separating out the parks division? |
