| Fundamentally the expenses issue is at the core of poloitical integrity. There will be other issues that we will all disgree with. But after listening to the Second Home Secretary yesterday what you realise is that she has not got a clue about the issue. The rules are crap but is it mandatory to scam the Public. If they fail that test then they are not fit to govern. Maybe the rules should remain woolly so we can spot the real scumbags!! I am against Heathrow expansion and that would be a mark of dissapointment with Steve. However you open up a good point about Council heads and senior positions. It is all part of the "We have to pay the going rate" argument. Well if people are so talented they should be working in industry creating the wealth that subsidises the rest. |
