| We already have a theatre close by: https://questors.org.uk/whats-on/ It is bad enough having so much of the park fenced off during the festivals without having to have it fenced off for more than THREE years. How much extra will be needed either side of that and how much for fencing off, making good and for vehicular access servicing it? Or maybe the idea is that it will never happen? We have already had Lammas Park fenced off for TWO years and been unable to use it while it was fiddled around with. It is EASY to get into central London to get to the West End. It has become even easier with the Elizabeth Line and there is a now a new theatre there that is easy to get to. Why would anybody think that people would have the money to go to the theatre AND also eat out in these troubling times? We recently attended the really good The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare - that's culture) in the open air at Walpole Park. That was WITHOUT impinging on other peoples free use of the park. The ponds and the lavatories in Walpole park are in constant need of more attention. Creating even more to worry about looking after there together with more vehicles and safe access to and from a theatre tent for pedestrians will just add to the work that is needed. Let alone the increase in cars and parking. Much of the extra building around the park will have been given permission with the knowledge that the park will be the green area that is needed and will be utilised instead of extra space. |
