| Paul James. Please let me tell you that a) I can't find a reference to this consultation on the Council website of past consultations and b) the meeting in West Ealing Library had small scrappy plans on the walls, was hosted by a cycling charity Sustrans whose representatives appeared to have no local knowledge and there were no papers to take away to consider at length. This was mixed up around the same time with other meetings like Town Teams and 20 minute neighbourhoods; all rather vague and poorly thought through. Let me add Paul that I was an active member of a small group that triggered the Council into introducing pedestrian phases at the Lido Junction. This to enable pedestrians to cross safely. We completed a traffic sensus under professional supervision and David Highton collated this data and published it at his own expense. The Council took up these plans at a time when the council did engage with the people it purported to serve. I resent the way you rudely dismiss me as some sort of maniac petrolhead. What we appear to be given by Ealing's slim (that is a very kind word)transport department are poorly thoughtout, expensive schemes that are given precedence over simple cheap maintenance items. To the unbiased this is clear to see. |
