| Just wanted to say the Ealing Today cover story that's gone up today isn't quite right. The retention of the EXISTING facade is not confirmed in the new Planning App; I understand the whole building is to be demolished with a sympathetic rebuild of the facade to match. The facade and all historical links will be lost and you can imagine how sympathetic a current day build will be. This also involves a substantial basement dig -- thank Christ for the Lammas Park Swamps taking all that displaced groundwater hey? Finally.... houses at a million pounds. What's exactly your point here? So what? Progression up the ladder and people growing into traditional family units means a stock of HOUSES of the right type and volume need to be out there. When I bought my first flat my aspiration was always to make my way up the ladder to the biggest and best house I could afford over time. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. |
