Ah, Pointless Paul at it again. He ought to be on the quiz show of that name. Guaranteed jackpot winner.

The ponds aren’t full because the scheme is massively bigger than it needed to be. There was never a flooding issue in and around the park. FYI Paul, a large puddle isn’t a flood, which is where torrents of water sweep along streets and into houses.

The size of the scheme was to satisfy a requirement of Thames Water for the council to provide a certain amount of flood relief capacity in the borough. The fact that it’s clearly in the wrong place didn’t seem to enter the tiny minds of Disnal Driscoll and his ignorant chums. These ponds will never be full of lovely, fresh water. Just stagnant bogs in winter and dustbowls in hot dry summers.

There is now a forlorn life ring there. How long before that’s vandalised I wonder.
