| The new Gurnell Leisure Centre has been delayed again! The old swimming pool was closed over 5 years ago and was demolished this summer. Planning approval for the new 50 metre swimming pool, water park, exercise studios and cafe plus outdoor facilities and 300 affordable homes was granted in January 2025. At last night's meeting, Ealing's Labour-led council admitted that the money to pay for all this has yet to be found! This is an unusual position for a council to be in - usually sufficient funding for a project is available at the start. Labour promised that the new centre would open in 2027. This is looking increasingly unlikely. What should happen now? |
