| Candidate selection used to be done by local Party members, but increasingly Labour ‘head office’ intervenes to scrub people from short lists based on their own interpretation of who’s ‘acceptable’. This usually involves rifling through candidates’ social media and past comments to ensure they ‘fully support the Party’. Toe the Party line or you’re out! |
