They will come when nobody expects it.

I suspect they will delay any decision on this until next year, probably after the elections as it’s proven to be hugely controversial. Refusal of planning consent might be problematic given the inability of the council to produce the annual Authority Monitoring Reports on homes built. That failure give developers an automatic victory when it comes to refusals. It puts the East Lodge in a very precarious position indeed. It’s also why so many huge towers have been allowed in Ealing despite their ugliness and inappropriate locations.

I hope Cllr Manro is following this thread. His grasp of planing laws and council powers is very limited. Fancy not knowing about local listing to protect historic buildings despite being cabinet portfolio holder for years. But then the local list hasn’t been updated since 2012 (I had to point this out to Cllr Manro at the last WEN meeting when he was floundering around trying to explain the council’s difficulty.) Ealing residents and taxpayers should be concerned about this lack of competence, particularly from someone pocketing over £40,000 a year as a cabinet member.

It does seem that people do like to post on numerous topics without having a shred of knowledge about them.
