The Lambeth decision must bring Cllr Driscoll back to some reality. Making everyone use a phone for a short "stop-and-shop " event is rediculous. It will endanger many of the businesses that serve us and it will adversely affect those who find the Paybyphone system difficult to operate. I'm 78 and that means me. Am I alone? My Uncle an engineer who repaired crashed aircraft in North Africa during the War and made them flight-ready for the trip back to base (Gib) used to often say..."If it's working leave it alone" Good advice Cllr Driscoll? My Mum used to say "Knock at the neighbour's door and ask nicely to get your ball back". That's called "Consultation". You ask first and don't fly poor ideas like Mosquitoes under the radar. What have we come to on the eightieth anniversary of the end of the war? Doesn't feel like freedom to me. |
