| Cycleways are an investment and you only have to build each one once. The amount of people who use C9 now (for example) shows they work in encouraging some drivers away from their cars, thus freeing up more space and reducing pollution. Cycleways can also be used by emergency services. Compare this to the average of £450,000 Ealing Council spend on fixing potholes EVERY YEAR. Maybe more use of cycleways can further reduce this expenditure, and put some of that towards the festivals? |
