| Don’t forget that party loyalty comes first and last. Dissenting voices aren’t tolerated and councillors will be kicked out of the party for ‘uncomradely behaviour’. As for engagement, councillors only listen to people who echo their views. Ignore everyone else is the standard mode. The level of ignorance is staggering. Remember the furore recently about the planning application for the East Lodge in Lammas Park? Seems even Cllr Manro doesn’t realise it’s within council powers to locally list historic buildings. He’s only been cabinet member for planning for years….. |
