Forty-five years ago this month terrorists stormed the Iranian embassy.
It was almost 24/7 coverage until the SAS stormed the building freeing 25 hostages including PC Trevor Lock who, it transpired saved the life of an SAS soldier bytackling one of the terrorist gunmen.

Trevor Lock was awarded the George Medal which recognises outstanding bravery, for his actions.

He passed away this morning at the age of 85.

Ealing connection? Yes, Ealing police station was one of the operational bases for the Diplomatic Protection Squad who guarded London's embassies.

Condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.
