Empty roads? This truly is madness. If the roads are to be empty we ought to get rid of them completely. Cars aren't going away. Pedestrians are not going to go away. Cyclists are not going to go away, Delivery vans are not going to go away. Refuse/recycling trucks, Ambulances, Police vans, fire engines and taxis aren't going away. I accept that getting the balance right can be tricky. Adding 80,000 more residents in Ealing by 2039 will make creating and maintaining this balance between different road users extremely difficult. However 41,000 new homes by 2039 is what Ealing Council's 2024-2039 draft Local Plan specifies. And by 2039 I'll be 95, so let's add mobility vehicles and wheelchairs to the road user mix.... |
