actually these rare several houses locally using this system and it is far from satisfactory. Most now have mould and condensation problems. The outer finish is really good but even with up to the minute high tech ventilation problems are manifesting. The cost is astronomic for an average 3 bed semi and is some cases can seriously alter the property appearance to the detriment of a street ambience. The return is over a lifetime and if these problems manifest then that will be wiped out with the cost of running dehumidifiers, open windows with heating on and so on. As for Grenfell the deficiencies like many, many multi storey blocks go way beyond the cladding. Everything from urgency access to lifts, stairs windows air circulation, wind vortices, dirt attraction and deposition, costly maintenance, water supply and contamination, heating inefficiencies, sewage and waste control are still problematic and unsolved. _ Even with luxury private builds. Yet none of this is submissable in Planning applications and gets washed over by building control. A complete moratorium ban not being imposed after Grenfell ( which was not the first, but certainly the worst ) is the biggest crime of all. |
