Amazing how the same excuses are trotted out by the blindly loyal. It’s the cuts, nothing else. Yet, when money is tight the last thing to be trimmed back are the allowances the councillors pocket. Indeed, Mason added another cabinet member to his regime bumping up the costs to taxpayers further. The solution would, of course, be to actually collect the s106 monies from developers to pay for services and infrastructure but Ealing rarely does so. I wonder why it passes up millions of pounds a year? Would be even more if the Community Infrastructure Levy has been brought in , but they are still thinking about that six years later. Do you think it’s because they don’t want to upset the people building those lovely towers and cramming yet more residents into already overloaded systems? |
