Pleased to read on the front page this mast has been rejected. Not that I believe that they should be stopped in all cases but building them on Public Open Space in a park should always be a very last resort. Of course there will be a map of where masts are planned but this won't be released to the public. The telecommunications companies are clearly hoping the inadequacies of the planning system will mean that most will already have permission before people are aware that they are happening. Not every area will have councillors on the ball and independent enought to alert people to what is going on or a functioning local media to report on it. |
