It seems that finally the injunction obtained by the Council is starting to work. As Cllr Dabrowska has explained there was a process to go through before it became fully effective. However, this seems to have just moved the issue to the next borough with Hounslow now suffering including Gunnersbury Park. What I found interesting is that most of the recent encampments have been very close to the borough boundaries. There does seem to be some sort of attraction for travellers to this area. Does anybody know what it might be? I did meet someone along time back who worked for the traveller unit at Ealing Council and he said it was the biggest in London and the official traveller sites that we have in the borough are also relatively large. Is this what draws them here or is there something else? |
