If we make it more difficult for motorists to park and drive for the short distances the majority of them drive for then they will be discouraged and sensibly turn to healthier more sustainable ways of getting around.

30% of Ealing's households don't own a car why should they be harmed from pollution, noise and the danger? If you'd like to know what the problem is for walkers go Crashmap http://www.crashmap.co.uk/Search and enter the location - you'll see the results of hundreds of people being hurt and maimed by motorists.

I haven't driven locally in Ealing for years and it's so much easier, if you need to go somewhere (even the supermarket) walk,  just hop on your bike or the bus.

It's better for our mental and physical health. and not only that helps build community as you're more likely to bump into a friend or a neighbour when you're not in your car.

Give it a try, you'll find it a revelation.
