A word of advice from an RHS qualified gardener before planting any of these trees in your garden. It is vital that you ensure you have a big enough space in which to plant one or other of them, and ensure that you are able to maintain these trees appropriately. They can grow very tall if not pruned regularly, and tree surgeon services can be expensive.
You should also be aware of the root spread of these tree. The rule of thumb is that the root system spreads as wide as the canopy of the tree it supports, so don't plant too close to your house as you may find it affects drains, etc. It may also affect your insurance cover, as many policies ask if you have a tall tree growing close to your property.
One further consideration is your neighbours. Planting a tree that grows fairly tall can impact their light, as well as cause other issues if it is close to the boundary. Best to check with your neighbour before planting.
Whilst I applaud the idea of increasing the tree population people should think carefully about whether these trees are suitable for where they live. There are other trees which could be more suitable for small London gardens.
